Tradition, culture and gastronomy in Astigarraga

Lizeaga, a traditional 21st century cider house.

Gartziategi is a country cider house on the banks of the River Urumea. The house is 450 years old and successive generations of our family have been making cider here since the 16th century.

CIDER HOUSE MENU

Traditional cider house menu, from January to April

  • Pincho of chorizo
  • Cod omelette
  • Fried cod with peppers
  • Rib-eye steak
  • Cheese, quince jelly and walnuts
  • Teilak and zigarretak (sweet local pastries)
  • Cider from the barrel (Txotx) and water

OPEN ALL YEAR ROUND

From May to November
